Extractions, and what comes after them
Wisdom teeth extraction and bone augmentation are the two most common reasons a patient is sent this way, and both stay in the same building rather than becoming a referral to an outside surgical center.
The practice also treats less invasive problems of the mouth, jaw and face, so not everything that lands here is a full extraction. Some of it is smaller than that.

Gum disease, treated at the root
Periodontal disease is managed with tooth scaling and cleaning on a schedule, typically every three months, alongside a medicated mouthwash and proper flossing at home. The maintenance side matters as much as the procedure itself.
This is the periodontist's own area, and it runs alongside the implant work in the same office rather than as a separate specialty across town.
TMJ, and the more complex reconstructive cases
TMJ, the joint that lets the jaw open and close, is treated here when it is the source of pain or clicking. The office also handles reconstructive surgery, including cleft lip and palate procedures, and dental implants when a tooth or several need to be replaced rather than repaired.
Dr. Wladimir Gedeon, the practice's oral surgeon
Dr. Gedeon earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Stony Brook University and a DDS from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery, then trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn. He has practiced in Connecticut for the past seven years.
He is Past President and a member of the Greater Danbury Dental Society, and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Connecticut Magazine named him one of the state's top dentists in 2009. His own area of expertise is dental implants and pre-prosthetic surgery, including soft tissue and bone grafting.

Surgical and periodontal appointments happen in the same treatment rooms as everything else at the practice, with the panoramic X-ray unit on hand to check the work as it happens rather than send you elsewhere for imaging.

Oral sedation and nitrous gas are both available.
Not every surgical or periodontal appointment needs either one, but for a patient who is anxious about an extraction or a longer procedure, the option is there. It is worth raising with the office when you book, so the visit can be planned around it rather than decided in the chair.
