Connecticut Dental Group has been locally owned and in practice for more than twenty years, at 4699 Main Street in Bridgeport. Dr. Azar leads the practice and is joined by a periodontist and an oral surgeon, so a cleaning, a gum treatment and an implant can usually happen in the same building instead of three separate offices. The front desk and clinical staff include Spanish-speaking team members, and the practice serves patients from Bridgeport, Trumbull, Fairfield, Shelton, Monroe, Easton, Westport and Norwalk.

Dr. Mehran Azar

DDS

Voted Top Dentist in Bridgeport and Fairfield County for fourteen consecutive years. Serving Bridgeport and Trumbull for more than nineteen years.

Dr. Azar practices general, cosmetic and restorative dentistry and dental implants, and is a certified Invisalign and Lumineer veneers provider. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors from the University of Miami and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery in the City of New York, followed by a General Practice Residency at Hackensack University Medical Center. He was a recipient of the Clark Foundation Scholarship and the Ash B. Merit Scholarship, among other honors, during his education.

Before joining Connecticut Dental Group, he was a consulting dentist for MetLife Insurance Company and in private practice in the New York area. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association.

Periodontist

Dr. Fara Vossughi

DDS, MS

Specialist in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Earned her DDS and Master of Science in Periodontics from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine, in 2001 and 2003. Before relocating to the United States, she received her dental degree magna cum laude from the University of Frankfurt in Germany, in 1996.

She has done extensive research in diabetes and periodontal disease, published several papers, and lectures frequently on periodontics and implant dentistry. Her master’s thesis was published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology in 2006. In 2005, she completed a one-year residency in Implant Dentistry with honors at the Center for Implants and Esthetics and Zimmer Dental. She is an active member of the Columbia University Study Club, is married, has two children, and lives in Westchester, New York.

Dr. Wladimir Gedeon

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Received his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Stony Brook University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. He trained in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and has been practicing in Connecticut for the past seven years.

His areas of expertise include dental implants and pre-prosthetic surgery, including soft tissue and bone grafting. He is Past President and a member of the Greater Danbury Dental Society and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Connecticut Magazine named him one of the top dentists in 2009. He is married with three children.
